Work Bull questions

I looked at a "Work Bull" this afternoon a guy has for sale and have a few questions about them. From searching this forum I am guessing it was the 202 model as it looks like a late 50's early 60's MF35 or 50? It had both the Davis loader and backhoe with vertical outriggers, PTO and 3 point. The machine looked rough, but mostly because of a very poor repaint and leaks galore, but everything seemed functional. Tires were poor, sheet metal fair, both buckets looked great and the machine wasn't real loose overall with the steering being the worst. The loader arms were shifted about 5" off center and the right side was rubbing on the hood and I couldn't tell why???? Didn't look like it could be bent that much. Not alot of welds on the machine, most were where the loader arms bend down and a small one on the subframe. None I could see on the hoe. Asking price was $2800. Wondering if this is a reasonable price? The way the swing on the hoe works mainly scared me off. Looks like it may turn the machine into a farm tractor if something goes wrong with it. Anyone familiar with how reliable this set-up is and how fixable it is if it screws up? Thanks.

I have the 203 workbull with MF 220 backhoe just finished redoing the swing motor lots of orings get them at a hyd shop much cheaper just take old ones in and match them up, I put new rubber seal in cost about 130.00 US did not do the other one not terribly complicated and if you had to do it I can give you some pointers. I had my cylinders redone on the hoe at a shop pretty expensive so if you like to do work and have money to get rid of then grab it. Personally I wish I had walked on mine and yes the loaders seem to be offset, things to check, front bolster for cracks, leaks from oil pan, brakes, acutally dig some holes to see how many leaks it has the hosed that wrap around the boom and the ones that go up to the cylinders wear where they rub so far I have put 6 new hoses on use it for at least 30 minutes wish I had since it leaked badly one short hyd hose is 25.00 or so gets pretty expensive, front spindles wear from the loader weight general things for any machine.

Thanks for the info, Rod. I think I will pass on the deal. Almost worth what he's asking just for the tractor, but I have enough junk already to work on and I can see alot of work it needs, let alone what I can't. Two of my neighbors have hoes, one of which is in the process of buying a new TN55 with a hoe and loader. I can trade a little work to get him to scape some of that new blue paint off the bucket. Thanks again.
