Can anyone please help. I have a MF35 gasoline and the only way I can get it to run is with the choke half closed. I have the points set at 22, plugs at 25, and timing set at 5 BTDC. When I open the choke completely it will run for a couple of seconds and the shutoff.

Pine needles and other crap in the fuel tank gave me the same symptoms in a MF50. Even though the bowl is full of gas their was not enough flow to keep the engine running under load.

Gator, you've got fuel problems. Check the flow at the carb. Clean and adjust carb if there's lots of fuel getting to carb.

Greetings,

In my few weeks w/ my 35, I've had some trouble (as though its out of fuel) similar to yours. It appears that scale has built up in my tractors gas tank and is restricting flow from tank to engine, choking or starving the engine down after a while. I'll be cleaning out my tank to try & remedy my issue.

Good luck, Craig In Colo.
