hello again, i wanted to know if this will fit or not, i saw 2 tires 18.4x34 they are like 50% with very little weather crack for $85 i think thats a good deal, since im half way buying that massey harris 55 diesel, i notice one of the tire is bare and shot.. so i wonder will this 18.4x34 tires fit on that mh 55? i dont know if theres enough clearance between the tires and the fenders? can anyone tell me if it will fit without rubbing the fenders? if they are too big then whats the tire size to be real close to the fenders without rubbing on it? the rear rims on mh 55 diesel is probably 15x34 something, not 100% sure... appricate any info!

thank you! sbone

Check your rim width. If you have 16 inch rims the 18.4 x 34 tires will fit with about five inches clearence between the tire and fender. If you have the 15 inch rims it they will still work, but will be closer to the fender. The massey 55 could be ordered with either wheel. I have noticed that the later tractors seem to haver the wider wheels. Western versions of the 55 came with 26.1 X 26 tires. They also had an arched front axle. Hope this helps.

Shannon; I am quite sure that the 18.4x34 replaces the old 15x34, it often tells you that on the tire.

Yes, 18.4 is same as old 15. 16.9 replaces old 14.

If they dont, you can take the fenders off and make fender extentions, but now if you have a 15 inch rim and you are going to be puting on 18's you are real going to pinch the cennters on them tires.i also dont know if the would rub on the platform.

if they are too tall , i wouldnt put them on.. but i have few catalog that shows mh 55 with huge rear tires on it, i think they are called rice tires but they arent its called something eles, they are real wide..im not sure if 18.4x34 tires would fit without rubbing the fenders, they have rims too..that mh 55 has cast iron centers...

I know that nowa days you can get 16 inch rims for the MH's. The old rims were 15's. i have a pair of 15's on my 44 standard. There is a pair of shutty 16X34's i think on them and they are some bigger tires. But i know what you are talking abought with the huge tires on the 55's and 555's. What you might want to try is trying to seat 13.6's on the rims as that will give you an extremly Flat bar tread. You will need a heck of a ratchet strap to set the bead on them tires but for pulling it will do well. Also i have heard of some folks filling and lighting ether in the tires to set the bead. No clue if that one works.

yep something like that, i just put 18.4x38 on 16inches rims for my 44, it was abit hard to do it, it had 6ply layer, that thing was real hard , had 6 foot crowbar and 3 foot crowbar thats all it took to get it on.. it was real pain in the butt! but did it.. now that baby looks soo good with those big tires on it, im trying to put the wheel weights on it then i will take a picture of it.. been busy lately, 2 more days left, im gone to honeymoon! so cant wait to get back home and wait for the guy to bring mh 55D to me! sbone
