On a 65 what needs to be changed to go from lpg to gas? I plan on keeping the tank for looks but putting gas in it. Is carb totaly different or can it be changed over? Is compression different? If so is the head or piston different? They dont have much compression anayway so does it matter?

You can use a #100 cylinder to carry Lpg to your tractor. Get a dealer to make up a hose for you. I had a 35 Massey on lpg for several years and wish I had it back.

The engine has a longer life on propane, and it never goes bad like gasoline. I have been running propane vehicles for about 15 years and love it. What problem are you having with propane on the tractor?

No problem with propane itself. More of a price and storage issue. I'll only use about three tanks a year so I dont want a storage tank around and supplyers dont want to send a truck for one tractor. I'd rather not drive to town with tractor for fuel. Gas would just be easyer.

I have a 65 LP and asked the same question to someone who used to be a massey mechanic. He said that he converted two lp tractors to gas. You have to put another carb on it. He said that he put Marvel Schblers on them but he had to make an adaptor because the bolt holes are diffenent. Which really ain't no big problem. However, I'd get a one barrel or two barrel from a junk yard(auto) and then make an adaptor, because I'm not one to pay over two hundred for a new carb. You might have to advance or retard the timing also. Otherwise, just fill the lp tank up and run your hoses and filter.

From whatI understand, You can just switch the carb over, and a few lines. The engine shouldn't have to be touched, it just runs a little higher compresion if I remember right.
