My Massey Ferguson 230 (with Perkins Diesel Motor)runs fine untill 1200rpm has dead spot. If going down a light grade in high gear motor will go past 1500rpm. and it will run great to 2100rpm (govner top rpm). If on up grade or flat road motor will stay under 1200 rpm with a miss in motor. I drive the MF 230 on the road about three mi. to a mowing jobs with 6" mower or a brush hog as needed . The road trips are bad as it is not all down hill I keep wating for down grade to go faster than 1200rpm . I have used fuel indjector cleaner no help at this time . This tractor is a pain to use at this time draging at 1200rpm on flat or up grade HELP . snowey

First check your throttle linkage to see if it is pulling the injection pump throttle lever against the fast idle adjusting screw. Then remove the valve cover & check the valve clearance if the rocker arms get tight it will cause them to run like that or I have had a few with a broke valve spring do it. It could be cause by a injector sticking or not atomizing the fuel. If I can be of further help email me

Think Big Dean may be offline just now. I'd try changing fuel filters, tank fuel strainer and check air filter too. Unless you've done that already.
