We have found a MF 97 propane standard tractor and can not find any information on the net about these tractors. We know it is for real because we have found a manual for it. Does anyone out there know about these tractors? where we can get more info. about it? Thanks for your time.

We had one of these old brutes ourselves. 4-wheel drive and powersteering. I use it to pull over an oak tree that died in our front yard. The trunk of this tree was more than 2 ft in diameter. Not long after I sold it to a local fellow a circus came to town and was getting their truck stuck in the mud and their elephants couldn't pull the trucks out either, so they called me and asked if I had anything big enough to help the elephants pull their trucks. I told them that I didn't but I gave them the phone number of the fellow I sold it to. I never did find out if they made connection. Wouldn't that have been a picture to take?

Tracy... You have a Rare and Beautiful Tractor... There is quite a story behind it... much to long to go into here. The new Massey-Ferguson Company was still going through the new merger transtion and they badly needed a bigger tractor so they went out and bought one. Your tractor was made by the Minneapolis-Moline Company. It is the MM G6 model with a MF styled hood and grille. The MF model also had much nicer seating and control console.

At the 1998 Massey-Harris-Ferguson Show at Dayton, Iowa, there were two hugh, beautifully restored, tractors, one a M-M G6 and the other a MF 97 sitting side by side. Was that ever a sight....

The M-M G6 went on to be quite a tractor for the MM Company....
