I talked with this guy who is selling a 135 with the Perkins gas with 3600 hours. It has manual steering with a 12-1 oclock play, good tires, shed kept, all guages work. The valve cover gasket is leaking oil, other than that he said there is nothing wrong with it, he is the 2nd owner. It comes with a 6 foot mower. He is asking $4,000. I would like to have power steering but may reconsider if this seems like a good deal. What do you guys think??

If you ever plan on having a front loader, then pass up this tractor with the manual steering. don't know your intended uses, but I have found that my front bucket loader is used more than anything else on the farm.

'seems like a lot to me. I paid 4500 for my 2135 WITH a front-loader and everyone's telling me THAT might be a little high. Offer him about $2000 and settle for $2500.

I never heard of Perkins GAS on a 135. Are you sure it isn't a Continental Z134? That's what's in my 2135.

Newer 135's had the Perkins gas....not my choice of engines in the 135. I wouldn't buy the gas. Only the Perkins diesel. That 135 always puzzled me... seemed underpowered...even with the diesel. Wish they'd have stuck that 203 Perkins diesel in them. Then they'd have enough power. If you're going to do loader work, I'd go with a Ford 3000 or something. Although that will be big $$$$
