MY PTO WILL NOT GO INTO GEAR,IT JUST GRINDS. MY MAIN DRIVE CLUTCH WORKS FINE. IS IT POSIBLE TO WEAR OUT THE PTO CLUTCH BEFORE THE MAIN ONE OR DO I HAVE TO ADJUST SOMETHING ELSE THROUGH THE INSPECTION PLATE? IT GOT USED ALOT THIS YEAR WITH THE NH 847 BALER AND A 10 FT HOG.

THANKS FOR ANY HELP YOU CAN GIVE! JAMIE

My 165 started doing the same thing, I didn't even have to go in through the inspection cover. Did it all with the pedal linkage. I had to really tighten down on the locking bolt to keep it from moving after I got it adjusted right.

Mine was a 2 stage clutch, it was kind of tricky for me to get it right, couldn't feel the free play like I thought I would. I used a welding rod to measure the 1/8 inch of free play.
