I have a serial number of 20GR2168 off of a tractor that a man has for sale that he bought at an auction. If you can help it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance,

Robert H

A friend of mine bought a Massy-Harris at a farm auction. We think that it is a 20 series tractor. He wants me to buy it from him, but neither of us know much about this tractor, or the Massy-Harris bred. So if anybody can help us it is greatly needed. As I stated before the only number that I could find was what we think is a serial number, 20GR2168. Any information will help. Or if we can be directed to a web site or club site that can help. thank you

Robert

Check the TractorLinks in the left column, there
are several MH sites, you will find something on
the 20. Since your 'Friend' owns it, why can't he
devulge the auction price he paid, figure his use,
and repairs, put a price on this 1947 tractor? It's not that valuable. They only made this 20 for
two years, then, the 22, with larger engine, 3 point, hydraulics,, replaced it, in '48.

My Friend bought the tractor for $400.00 at an estate auction in Texas. The price to me is $500.00, which includes the tractor, plowing and planting attachments as well as a 6 foot cutter.

Currious where you got those numbers. If you have looked at the left side of the frame just in front of the clutch pedal and top center of the transmisson housing. The numbers don't appear to be complete although I've never seen a 20. Starts out as if it a model 20 gas row crop possibly made around '47. Just a guess. Dan
