I have been offered a Massey 55 with a stuck engine. Tin and fenders are excellent, has full hydraulics and poor rubber. Asking $350Can. Is it worth it?

ONLY if it is on steel .... then you've got a complete set of steel-wheeled tractors Phil. I know a couple of guys up here in central Alberta that are just plain crazy about that steel stuff. One thing about the 55's and that is the fact that you will have an unlimited supply of paper weights.

that is very cheap.. if it has everything on it.. u got a good deal.. maybe u might have a very good chance to tear all apart and restore it back.. or use for as parts for another good running mh 55.. depends where you live and how far it is.. thats the difference..

Unless you plan on parting out the hydraulics, a
few parts over a couple of years, why invest in
all that weight? Sheet metal is awkward to ship,
and costly, so price is low. Canada has these 55's
parked by trees, stuck engine, obsolete. Almost
nothing fits a 44(seat, steering wheel). If you
have to haul it, more outlay. Parked a decade can
mean lots of scrap. Better to avoid busy work like
this dead iron. Good luck.
