Jeff
Hello, Sound like you got a good deal on that tractor. Is it gas or dsl??? What other options does it have? What are you going to use it for?? Or is it just a big toy??

thanks for the response, charlie. i'm going to use it for hay cutting, raking, pull the baler and such. maybe pull the disc. It is a big improvement over my 8n. it has 2 stage clutch, hi low range, live pto(i thought the guy said 2 speed pto, but i only get 1. i need to check the block at some point, the guy said it had a crack betwwen one of the sleeves, letting water into oil, but so far, all is well.

If the seller stated it was cracked, be prepared.
This was a common fault with the 50, some are able
to be fixed, others need a replacement block. You
would be wise to attempt fixing it now, before the
repair cost more than the tractor. Your bargain may end up as a barkyard ornament. Check the
archives here, for MHF 50. There are places that were able to repair 'some' of these blocks. Good
luck.
