I have a MF 85 and the 3 point hitch will not work from the draft control levers. The 3 point will only work if you move the left hand hydraulic remote up or down. The 3 point will move down ok with this lever, but will shutter badly when moving up with it. I checked the lock out knob for the 3 point but it made no difference where it was positioned. Anyone ever seen this happen before? I pulled the side cover off and the levers are moving when I move the draft control levers up and down. If anyone has any diagrams on how the hydraulics flow on this it would be great.

Thanks,

I added a front end loader to my MF85 using factory auxiliary and learned by trial and error and reference to the repair/operating manual were to set the draft and 3 point hitch controls but I have the same "shudder" in the movement of the front end loader and 3 point hitch. I have not taken any wrenches to the problem yet. It almost "feels like" a relief valve that opens and closes rapidly. There are more knobs, set screws and levers on the hydraulics system then on a 747 airplane, but I have yet to find a schematic. My hope is to drag one of the "old" Massey mechanics into a discussion of my problem at coffee sometime and get him to give up his secrets!! Cheers, let's keep working on this problem, I am sure others are experiencing the same thing. By the way, I love the tractor, not as much as the family but close!
