We have a MF 165 Diesel in good shape. What would you suggest would be the biggest brush hog that it could comfortably run. Also, how many bottom plow.

We have a 5' mounted brush hog, but it just takes too long although it's good in the fence rows and along the road.

A 165 is big enough to run a 6' cutter under any conditions and you could run a 7' cutter in most conditions, you would probably need to slow down in tall grass with a 7' cutter.
A 5' cutter is too small. It is to narrow to cover the wheel tracks on a 165, so you flatten some of the grass. As a result you won't do quite as nice of a job cutting.

Dick
I have a MF 165 Dsl. I purchased a used 3 point hitch Heavy Duty Bush hog last spring. It works very well behing the tractor. Although it is probally way more than I need, I just use it for tall grass. A light/meduim duty you may be able to hold a 7 or 8 foot depending on the weight and what you want to bush hog. If you want a pull type you might be able to pull up to a 10 foot pull type bush hog, but it might bogg your tractor down if you hit some thick brush.

As for plows, the MF 165 is suppose to pull a 4 bottm plow but I use a my brothers 3 16" plow and it works fine. The plow is going to depend on what type of soil you have. Good luck Charlie
