Thank you for helping me, John. Do you need to remove the battery box to get to the power steering resevior? Also, does the transmission and differential lubricate together? It seems to have hydraulic fluid in both, should I change both to mineral oil?

Straight Mineral oil 80/90 weight not detergent oil or hydraulic oil. If you cant find the resevoir for the power steering are you sure its got power steering fitted and it wouldn't take oil from the transmission to operate the steering even if it had it fitted later, the oil would be too heavy. What sometimes happens with the 35 here in UK is that water gets into the steering box and the oil floats on top of it and the level rises and so you have what you think is an oil leak. The filler for the steering box is under the battery on top of the box
