MF 35 thermostat

Need a thermostat for my MF35 gas. I'm close to an auto parts store that has a large display of automobile thermostats. All are shrink wrapped which makes it kind of difficult to judge size exactly. Anyone know which auto thermostat will work in an MF35? Or maybe I'm supposed to use the goofy looking one that goes inside the top radiator hose. Need a little guidance please.

Go to MF dealer and get thermostat that is engineered for your tractor.

I'd do exactly that except nearest MF dealer is way the heck away from me. I'm not in what might be considered tractor country. Did find a thermostat that is made for MF35 at local auto parts store. It fits, and I tested before installing to be sure it starts to open at 180.

I got one from Car Quest a couple of years ago for my FE35 gas. It looks the same as in my 350 Chevy. But then I had the advantage of a parts man familiar with tractors too. Don't all thermostats go in the top radiator hose?

When I said inside the top hose I meant actually inside the hose. It's a cylindrical looking thing that you push inside the hose.

Thanks for the tip on the 350 thermostat. I'll check it out.
