on a drive localy i happened to see a 444 high arce gas tractor siting in a pole barn off the road. now i was not able to get but maybe 20 yards from it but. it looks complete, the tin looks strait, rubber looks almsot new. it was run on abought 30-40 acres from what i see and jujdgeing by the fact that i see a few 3-14's most likey was not worked to gosh darn hard. now for the not so good new, i asked around in the nieghbor hood abought it because no one was home. it seems that most every one knows abought the farm haveing sat for years do to the death of the husband there, and it looks like they have been sitting for many many years. the one nighbor said that he had helped a bit to try to get the big tractor as he called it to run a few years back. not sure what they done but failed to start it. it also sits on a dirt floor, would that rott out the bottom of the tires? i plan to go back and ask the widow about the tractor at a latter date and would like to know what a fair price to offer her is. also can you tell how common high arce 444's are? as this is the first i have come across there is a standard tread that i found before and a lot of narow RC's.

If is has been parked in a pole barn for a decade,
at least it was under cover. The dirt floor will
weaken the tires, considerably. If fluid in the
tires, the rims corrode, especially closer to the
ground, as moisure exsists. Brakes freeze up, electrical components rust from moisure. Better
if the engine had coolant left in it, saves the
seals. Try a 30 or 44 hand crank, to see if the
engine is stuck. The WFE was about $100.00 extra,
when new. Live clutch, Hitch-All,factory PS add to
the value. Any 'runnable' 444 is worth a Grand.
Good luck.

alright, i would have figured that the High arce would have been a bit more than $100 more. just cause i have never seen one around here at all. almost all masseys here are naroow fronts and alot of standards too. i will take my handcrank with me next week than. from what i seen the tires were up so that much is good for trailoring.
