How can you tell the difference between an MF mark I and an MF mark II. Is there much difference?

Hi Mat, I can't comment on U.S.tractors but those built at Coventry would appear as follows:-Mk1
A4.192 indirect injection diesel engine, small fuel tank and two 6volt batteries, larger inlet manifold, injector feed pipes horizontal, and it also has a separate wedge shaped segment to the rear of the cast sump.Mk2:- AD4.203 direct injection diesel engine, larger fuel tank with one 12volt battery, narrower inlet manifold, vertical injactor feeds, and no wedge to sump.Early Mk1's also had a sloping oil filter housing although mine is vertical being a late Mk1.
Hope this helps you,
Cheers Ali.
