I have a MF-65 and I don't see many postings concerning ths tractor. I really like it so far but don't have anything to compare it with either.I did select it over the Ford 9n and 8n. I do have a problem though, it is "puffing" blue smoke occassionally. I hope 'm not looking at major repairs, oil pressure is good. There shows to be only 2,250 hrs. I also found this to be a deceiving number. For example it can run all day in for ie: 1,200 rpm and the hour reading is not the same running time as your watch would show.
I would be very interested in seeing some photos of your ( anyone out there ) MF-65

Well anyway, I would like to find both new grill pieces. Anyone know a real price?
Thanks for your time.

The hour meter has confused a lot of people in its time, but it works on how many revoltions the engine does not in any given time. The formula is 90,000 engine revolutions = One engine hour. so no matter what speed you run your engine it will still only register one hour after it has done 90,000 revolutions. The smoke bit could be just a misfire on a plug occasionally. It maybe worth checking the contacts and plug settings. I am assuming that it is a gas engine as you dont say.

Owen, normally, the hours are based on rpm. My Perkins a3.152 diesel measures hours at 1580 rpm. If I run it at 790 rpm, a clock hour is .5 metered hours. If I run it at 3160 rpm, a clock hour is 2 metered hours. This information is in my operator's manual for the MF35 diesel. C. T.

for pics go to www.machinerylink.com Look for want to buy, then tractors, then Mass-Ferg. all. It will show you a list of MF's. When you dont know what any tractor looks like, this is a good way to see close up pics. Click on camera symbol to get photos.
