I've seen several posts about getting manuals and CD's from Big Deans. I saw the CD's on his site, but not the manuals, but I had a really slow connection and was having problems. Are the manuals at Big Deans superior to those available from ytmag? What is on the CD's?

Jeff, get the CD from Big Dean, very handy with lots of tips; but it is not a manual. Big Dean does not have manuals, just the CD. Go to your MF Dealer and get real MF Manuals- - 3 of them: Operators Manual, Repair Manual, Parts Manual. IT Manuals are a waste of time.

Thanks Tom. What is an IT manual?

Will the MF dealer still have the manuals for a 1961?

This forum has been a great resource, between searching past messages and asking questions it is sure a great way to learn from a lot of folks that know a lot of information. Thanks again.

Jeff, IT is a brand of manual, that you would order from a site like this one. The MF dealer can get you the real manuals.

I second Rods thoughts.... As a matter of fact, I owe Big Dean some GA dipping sauces for his kind and wonderful insight!!!! (Just incase you're peeking Big Dean, I've just been way busy!!!) Anyway, I too have his CD... It's not a slick package, but very insightful, and he really is not making a profit on them... He put in a lot of his "tricks", good photos, and some forsight as to things you should keep an eye out for before they go wrong!!! Very handy!!! I say this, owning a true $58 dollar MF manual, an original 1959 I&T manual specific to my tractor, and a cache' of other referances... I always find myself refering to Big Deans CD..... AP

Thanks Adam. Where can one get ahold of a real MF manual? Are those the ones they sell here on ytmag?

I have one of dean's cd's it has tips and great photos for fixing various things that are problems like power steering, oil leaks, hyd tests etc. I also have copies of many manuals some factory some aftermarket in general the originals are very nice and detailed but the I&T ones are all you need for most repairs. I recommend dean's CD plus he has given me much free advice on fixing my MF 203 Industrial tips you won't find in any book since he was a mechanic for many years he knows his stuff and he is a great guy to chat with you really can never have to much info to keep your tractor running.
