I have a 1942 Massey Harris 101JR Twin Power. I would appreciate recommendations as to where to purchase replacement serial number plates and decals. I would also like to purchase a radiator cap and battery cover side panel. Thank you very much.

Dan Whalen 513-734-4040 makes great serial # tags. I get my decals from Maple-Hunter 765-932-2027 or 812-894-9759 Very satisfied with products and service.

Do either of these guys have a web site? If not have them contact me the next time someone talks to them and I can set one up for them for free. That way, at least maybe we can get some pictures up so folks can see what they need before they call.

I am not going to ask them to contact you about a website. You can see their telephone number and use your own descretion about contacting them. All I was trying to do was help a guy get a nice serial number tag.

Wow, sorry. Didn't mean to offend you. I guess you told me. Next time you talk to your friends you can tell them a guy was willing to set them up a web site but you put a stop to that. Oh wait, I guess I was supposed to make some long distance calls and offer to do somebody I don't know a favor. Yeah, you told me. I thought people used this board to help each other out. Glad to see someone is not letting it get out of hand.

I like coming to this forum because I'd rather get info from folks that have done it before but I guess I can read manual as well as anyone so I won't be back.

Thanks for putting a stop to me wasting anyone's time by doing them a favor, maybe help their business and give folks on this board a way to see what they might be getting from them.

Whoa, Keith. Don't take it so personally. On these discussion boards it is possible to read a lot more emotion into the written word than what was intended. With that said, I do not think it was right to ask someone else to propose the website offer to the company for you. Afterall you will be contacting them anyway about your serial number tags.
IMHO

I was not the one needing the plates. I'm not in the business of building web sites. I have done it for people in the past as a favor. I thought David sounded like these were friends of his that he spoke to on a regular basis so if he wanted to offer it to them I would be happy to help.

If someone has no web site or no way to post pictures at least, I have a couple of personal web sites that I use for that. I just ask people to send me pictures and I post them and send them a link. Simple. I get nothing out it of other than helping someone that needs it. When I was cowboy shooting a lot of the old timers had digital cameras but didn't have a place or know how to post pictures. I just posted them or helped them so others on the board could see their items whether something they built, bought or had for sale. I have no tractor knowledge but I do have some computer knowledge. That is how I try to contribute to these boards where I can learn things but have nothing to teach. I just thought it rude of him, on this board where people help each other with problems for free, to state blatantly that he was not going to help these guys in any way by telling them someone had made them an offer to help them with something they may not have. They may already have web sites fof all I know. I still come here to look but now I have nothing to contribute at all if that's the kind of reponse I get.
