Hi all, I'm posting this message in both the Ferguson and the Massey Ferguson because there seems to be discussion of TO models in both boards.

I'm the happy and proud new owner of a Ferguson TO-35 Super (Gas) Ser. No. SGM197578. This is my first tractor.

I have ordered all the manuals but they have not yet arrived, so I'm hoping someone can help me get back in operation.

My tractor has a loader and the hydraulic hose running from the left side of the tractor to the control cluster for the loader was leaking quite badly. So I remove the hose and had another one made and installed it. So far so good, but...

I have two problems.

First, the lift on the loader is now verrry slow. It used to go up and down swiftly, now it barely moves. I'm wondering if I need to bleed the system since I must have introduced air into it. If this is correct, what is the procedure?

Second, the fluid level is low. I know from reading messages here that it should have 90 wt gear oil in it. Problem is I don't know what is in it now? Seems to be pretty thick but it is not clear brown which is what I would expect of 90 wt gear oil. Rather it is the color of coffee with cream in it. Any ideas? Do you suppose it would be ok to add 90 wt gear oil to whatever it is?

You more than likely have water in the hyd fluid. It can get in around the shifter boots or down the steering shaft. It's best to drain and replace it with a non-foaming hyd fluid. Big Dean has a great website and CD.

Great, thanks for the info. How can I find Big Red's website?
