MF50 Not firing

My MF50, gas, has run great and now does not fire. No spark at the coil output. But, coil measures proper resistance and I do have 12V at the coil input. Could it be a bad coil? How can I check or should I just buy one and replace it.

Any ideas would be very helpful - I have a ton of bushhogging to do tomorrow and my wife is gonna kill me if I can't get that thing runnin'.

How about your breaker points & condenser?

Replaced the coil this morning. Didn't help. Replaced points. So far nothing. I am runnin out of ideas here.

Could it be that the power TO the coil is a corroded or crimped wire that has high impedance and limits the current flow - such that no sparkies?

Nearly at wits end. And it worked last time I ran it - 4 weeks ago.

Chuck, You didn't mention the condenser. I have had two of them go bad in my life, just thought I should second Thyge's suggestion. C. T.
