Hi,

I'm a Massey Ferguson fan, grew up with several of them; 1150's, 1155's, 2745, 2775, 510's, 750, and various other implements. Also grew up with classic MM's, and just about any regularly known classic tractor brand. MM's have been my latest passion, since I have been restoring them. Well, as much as I love my MM's, i'm thinking about selling the MM's for a MF diesel. I know the MM's won't bring in enough money, but I would have something to shoot for. Also, the classics are pretty much dead money. Just something to look at, show, and take pride off. Can't spend too much, currently starting to make payments on a $17k '97 Dodge 3500 Cummins Turbo Diesel. We currently have a MF 2745 that we use for field work. Seems to be a lemon, heard a lot about the 2000 series tractors being lemons. Occasionaly we get buzzers triggered from the multipower or A/C, we've had the tractor split twice to work on the multi-power(bad patent), and we've had the engine runaway from a stuck governor. Also, the A/C is wired up so we have to manually power the A/C compressor and disconnect the wire when the evap freezes up. But I must say that the rest of the tractor is good, plus the looks are really good. We also have a 750 combine, beleive it has a turbo. Does that engine come in any tractors? I'm looking for a MF diesel, preferably model that can be cab-less, in the 1000 or 2000 series such as the 1085, 1100/1105, 1130/1135, 1150/1155, 2705, 2745, 2775, and the 2805. I would like to be able to remove the cab, I think they look pretty mean with the cabs off. Also would be nice to have a turbo but not necessary; cool sound, cool power, and excellent for pulling. Plans for this are to wrench on, going back for a diesel course in college, and possibly to pull in the extreme future. Might even use it around the farm. Not a very large or rich farm, only under 300 acres farmable, but we do some custom work like chopping CREP acres and our own CRP acres. I thought about pursueing a MM diesel tractor because I love MM, but I also love MF and don't think that they make a MM with a turbo engine.

Any help or opinions would be very great!
Thanks,
Trever Maas
