Looking at a 44 special but I am very concerned since it is miising the hood. Would it be a difficult and expensive item?

If the hood is missing, what else may have walked away? Is the engine gas or diesel? Running
tractor? S/N 55113 & up have updated pinion, larger bearings. Two hoods, since gas had a 23 gallon tank, diesel a 19 gallon plus a access door
for the second battery. Usually a missing hood is
a sign of other costly repairs needed, so service
work is skipped, some parts sold. Parked tractor?
Stuck engine? Dry rot tires? Look a little closer,
before purchase. Post back, we're here. Good luck.

As I've said in the past, get that pen out and start writing. I'm sure you could publish something in the long run. Lots of details that just aren't found anywhere else.

Thanks for the continued kudos. The good and spam
run 7-14, a day. The numbers included for clarity,
enlightenment, irk certain circles. Since I didn't
design or build these correct red, it's only pass
the word on facts, backed by numbers. If someone
saves another MH, great! Using the wrong parts to
rebuild, leaves the tractor vulnerable, while the
choice components move to scrap. The question remains, would anyone read beyond fifty words on a
model they don't own and cherish? MH was unique,
but starved of R & D budget, post MHF merger. How
could the 333/444 take market share, with the weak
Hi/Lo gimmick,no fully independent PTO? MF Dolts.
