Your tractor is a 1942 twin power 102 standard tread tractor that runs on kerosene. It should have an A244 Continental engine. I just looked in the parts manual and the earlier 102 Kerosenes did have cast iron grills but no serial number is given for when the change over was made. Yours was made in early 1942. It is probable that the change was made that year due to the US gearing up for the war effort. From mid 1942 to mid 1943 MH tractors came with steel wheels and Magneto ignition. Chances are that they could no longer allocate the steel needed to cast the grills because of the wartime restrictions on raw materials .

If the whole grille is cast iron and it is of the louvered style then I think you might have one of the Masseys like a 202 or 203 (not 100% sure of those numbers). I have seen one in a tractor show once. Both the 202 and the 203 had the Continental flathead engine, but that number of yours doesn't match up to anything I see here in a book. Where are you getting that number from? All of the 202 and 203's had serial numbers starting with 95*** according to this. Your number matches up with a 102 Senior (standard) but I didn't know they had a cast iron grille.

hi,thanks for your response,i`am amazed at the tractor talk in here. as you might have guessed i`am new at this but having a farming background i do know tractors somewhat,,,but this is my first try at restoring an oldie,i have photos of the grill and the serial #`s .when i buffed with a wire brush the #`s came out really clear!. they were stamped on the top of the transmission case by your Lh footwhen sitting on the tractor,i`d like to show them to you but dont know how to get them to you,,,,,i also have another M-H with a 4cyl& spoke wheels.i`ve had these machines for a long time but now i have found the time to devote the needed restoration that they deserve,i`ve hung on to them dearly &resisted the many offers to sell them --{the all over tingley feeling i get all over when i see an old M-H cant be beaten } many thanks ,,,,, ,mike
