I have a Massey 3165 with a front loader.I just bought new rear tires, had them loaded, put a set of chains on have full wheel weights, and I still "spin my wheels" trying to push snow.
Anybody out there have any Ideas on how to add more weight to the rear of this tractor?
I saw one with a 55 gallon drum on the back filled with rocks?
My little Ford N with backhoe and front blade can push more snow than the more powerful Massey.
Any Ideas?

Here's my answer to my traction troubles. I have a 2165 with the #99 loader. The loader is fine but real heavy. My cement filled 2/3 barrel weighs in at about 750#.

Your problem could be with the ice. It's hard to deal with, no matter how much you weigh in at.

Thanks for the help and photo Tyler.
I think I am going to build one of these and try it out.
I think your right about the ice. We have had a lot of it lately. The other problrem I have is my front bucket is narrower than the front wheels so the front wheels are always in the deep snow.I have a wider bucket that I'm going to put on it and your barrel weight and give her a go.
thanks again,
tom
