Purchased a 135 MF that had been sitting for appr 8 years. Rebuilt the engine runs excellant but now I have problem with lift. IF I PULL LEVER ALL THE BACK IT SOUNDS LIKE GEARS HITTING SO I HAD TO SET ABOUT 3/4 WAY UP .NOW IT WORKS REAL SLOW WITH NO SPEED GOING UP OR DOWN. I PUT BOX BLADE ON IT TO SEE HOW THAT WOULD WORK IT WOULD JUST SLID ACROSS DRIVEWAY . ANY SUGESTIONS WHAT TO LOOK FOR

check hydraulic fluid quality? if its old its no good.there is also a hydraulic filter buried deep in the middle of transmission.just completely changing fliud may work but imperitive that filter is in ok shape as it will deteroriate and end up going thru the pump destroying it. u do not want that to happen.at least make sure oil is new. filter change usually means breaking in 2.its does on my 135 perkins gas 4 speed hi/lo.
good luck .reply if i can help ok.

My 135 did they same thing when I got it 15 years ago. It is a 1965 and runs like a champ. If you have an I&T manual, go to the section on Hydrolics. It sounds like you need to synchronyze, sp? the levers, and clean the metal screen filter. I would go ahead and change the unitrac fluid now too, you got it drained anyway. You will need help pulling that lift cover, it weighs about 100lbs, I used a come-along and a swing set frame. Good luck, the 135 is a joy to work on.

Sounds like the lever and control synchronization adjustment needs to be made. Its covered in the I&T manual, first step in hydraulics diagnosis.

If you haven't changed the hydraulic and transmission oil you should next and clean or change the hydraulic filter.

you can remove the filter thru the left side plate if it is caked up with trash you can clean it out if it is clean you should remove your pump and check it out if the piston bores in the valve bodies are scratched bad or cracked it will lift slow or not at all also the piston in the lift cylindercould be your problem take off one of the side plates put some weight 0on your thre point lift and raise it up then look at your cylinder to see if it is leaking any oil if it is you will need to reseal it
