In 1974 at the ripe age of 20, I started farming. My first purchase was a new '74 135 Diesel PS 6 spd. With only minimal maintenance, she served me well for many years, doing everything from cultivating 100's of acres with a 4 row rolling cultivator carrying 400 lbs of fertilizer (had to add 6 MF weights to the front) to teaching my kids how to drive and respect machinery.Mid 1980's brought hard times. She and her 2 big sisters, a 285 and an 1135, were taken from me, along with everything else. Bad days and dark times. Always regretted letting them take my 135. Times are better now, and I tracked her down last year. She had been scrapped out. Such an undeserving end for a loyal friend I spent so many hours with. Brought tears to my eyes. I've looked at many 135's over the past year, but none had her sound, smell and feel. I'll find her sister someday, and make amends for my past. She'll have a good home mowing 5 acres of grass with a fresh wax job!
