MF 40 #SGM400263 What Year?

In looking on all the sites I have yet to see a model 40. Does anyone know if this is the real model, or is there another letter, or number missing. I am the proud owner of whatever this is, and I'd like to know when and where it was built..... .just for jollies.

That would be a 1956. Ferguson 40s had serial numbers 400001-405670 in 1956 and 405671-409015 in 1957, the only two years that this tractor was built.

There was a Ferguson F-40. I have one. Maybe that's what you have, rather than a MF. They were made after the merger of Massey Harris and Harry Ferguson, but were sold as Fergusons. Most were cream and red. Some were narrow front, but most were wide front. Look under the Ferguson list for serial numbers, rather than the MF list. Does it have the 134 Continental engine?
