I have an older model 165 ferguson that the lift has quit working. The levers have resistance as tho they are moving internally but the lift want go up. I have concluded that i need to remove the top of the lift plate and inspect further. Anyone have any suggestions as to what I may find or what to look out for. The power steering works fine. I'm a Deere man so this is new territory to me.

Before you remove the liftcover if you have a dual clutch (two stage clutch) put the PTO in gear & see if it stops turning when you try to raise the lift. The PTO clutch is what turns the pump. There is a roller behind the right hand access plate the one with the dipstick & response lever in it that plate has to removed & the roller removed before you raise the liftcover off Email me if I can be of further help
