I just picked up a MF135, gas, with the Cont. 4 cyc. engine and have two questions, first being the tractor starts fine but the engine lags the throttle, I pull or push on the throttle and it takes 10-15 seconds for the engine to rev up or down and then settle on any given RPM. The RPM when running varies less than 100rpm, and the throttle seems stiff to me (compared to my MF135 diesel).

Second question pertains to the oil filter and its cannister, I changed the oil yesterday and after failing to tighten the cannister down and spilling a gallon of new oil (this thing must have a great oil pump) I got the bottom of the can to seal againstthe block after retightening but I'm still getting some seepage out of the top where the bolts goes thru the can. Under the spring in the can is a piece of rubber, should there be orings on the bolt also to seal it? Felt gasket? I'm afraid to torque it down much more. Thanks for any insights

Hey will, great tractor. I bought a spin on and replaced the old cartridge type for about that same reason. Cost less than 20 dollars.
