after a little reserch on my part i have come up with that the hydraulic parts to the system that came with the 44 that i bought are indeed from a 44 specal and that the manifold that i need that did not come with this tractor that i have is the one that mounts up on tranny cover by the pto lever. the deck plate that i have has no manifold just a vent cap, WHY? to what availe is that plate if there is no manifold? also i see that the manifold that i would need has two, two way piston controlers, question. were/are them valves good, did they work well or would i be better with an aftermarket on? are these parts going to be easy to come by when the time comes to start acuireing them? on a standar tred tractor is there any point to installing the depth o matic?

Seems you have an assemblage of two MH's. You can
make this ongoing Q/A easier, by posting the S/N.
Assuming that you have a '52 Standard, the master gear cover is from a Special. No 44's had the cap breather on the cover, only Special & Triple. This
was due to the change in the steering support column. Once the brace post was eliminated, the breather cap vented the transmission. The 40K series 44RC's in '53,still used the post breather,
mounted cylinder body valve, w/a diverter(option).
The PTO fork/rod should work on these late models,
w/the Special manifold. But the Standard is too narrow to fully benefit from your adding a mounted
cylinder, parts galore. With two sick engines, a Special RC #56601 & up, is the ticket.

i have looked up the serial number before and it is a 52 standard tread, but i will take the number down and post it on here. i know that hte standars will not take the hichcll do to being to narrow in back, but i was wondering that since this depth o matic that i have has the spliter if it would be worth puting on. well i will get the s# and post back
