I am selling my house and 10 acres in the next several months however my TO-30 used to bushhog the 6 acre field broke a valve last weekend. Vale stuck in top of piston ruining piston. Taking head to shop to be reworked. Don't really want to do complete lower unit overhaul since I will be selling tractor. Before I buy a piston and sleeve kit, can I replace the 1 damaged piston with a used one.

Hi Tom...yes you can replace only one piston, I have done it on my tractor, I did have to fit the piston to bore and cut the rings to get proper clearance and I had no problems and it ran great. I do believe though it would be a better selling point if you did a bottom end job it would only add to the value of the tractor....
hope this insight helps....

To-35Man thanks for the reply. I have never messed with the bottom end. Have replaced head gaskets on tractor or cars but never bottom end work. Will the to-35 video show installation of the sleeves and pistons?

Tom...I Can't say anything about the viedo's I have never looked at one of them. I have always prefered A manual when needed.I'm sure if you can do The top end of an engine you should be able to do the bottom with no problems, If you are still leary of doing the job you can search the archives here or post and get any answers you need, or you can email me directly and I'd be glad to help you anyway I can...if you don't have a manual you can get one easily..just get a shop manual ,not an IT manual....here again the price of the manual will only add as a selling point for the tractor.
hope this helps...
