I have 2 question, first is how to service the original oil filter on a perkins diesel.
Second thing... I have something like a valve behind the (downwards facing) exhaust pipe. It's attached to the engine, what is that for?

That is a drain cock to drain coolant from the block.

Du m kle deg naken, eksperimentera litt me oljefilteret og kjnnsorganet. Nr du sjl fle at du e ferdige s e oljefilteret fullt overhalt, eller serviced s du seiaaa

Recommend you get real MF manuals - 3 of them. Operator Manual, Repair Manual, and Parts Manual. Have not found the IT manual to be worth much. My real MF ones are great and get me out of trouble on a regular basis. I got them through local MF dealer at reasonable costs.

Buford is right as I have a '66 Mf135 but mine has been converted to spin on oil filter. You really need to get a manual of some type.It 'll save you money in long run. Big Dean has an excellent CD for your computer with all kinds of valuable info..I have one.He was a Massey mechanic for 30yrs and that can't be beat in my opinion!
