i have a MF #12 baler i bought last year from a guy. the guy i bought it from is a crock and a lier. he sold me a blare that he said would not miss a bale in 1000. being the fool that i am i bought the darn thing. well it missed one in ten bales i would say. i could not for the lfe of me figure out what was wrong, the knotters looked good and shinny, and the bales that did tie were great. well i have sharpend the twine knifes, found a spring the was bent( broke it now rats) and cleared the old grease an chaff and so forth out. well i happend to see today the the one knotter pincher is wore from all the years of baleing. it looks like a recurve bow. can i braze and reshape the pincher?how abought jbweld? how big of a job is it to remove the knotters. agin i dont have a book. i am sure that the "FELLA" had a book and more than likly still does. but it never came with the baler when i bought it. thank you in advance for the help STEVEN L HESSELGRAVE

What twine are you running in it? We used to run 9000 in ours, but then one day it just didn't work anymore. Put in 7200 and now it is fine. One time the knotters were messed up, we brought it to the dealer and then they were fine. Could be something simple. Donovan from Wisconsin

i run the 9000, we dont seem to have the 7200 here. i buy all my twine at fleet and farm so i dont realy look around much. is there a price difference between the 9000 and the 7200? if it is cheaper to go with the 9000 than i am going to try and biuld up the pinchers.

The price is the same, only difference is the 7200 has 7200 ft per roll, where the 9000 is 9000 ft per roll. the difference is the 7200 is a little thicker, but takes up the same space and weight as a 9000 ball of twine. I buy mine at Fleet Farm. Look around, some coops or feed mills sell twine, and even some implement dealers sell it. Should be the same price. Last year it was about $18-19 per bale, this year its about $15.50. Believe me, try atleast one ball of 7200 if you can find it. Chances are it may solve your problem, and save you from lots of headaches.

Steve

Watch ebay for baler manuals. Operator manuals are listed time to time and have even seen a couple dealer service manuals for your baler. It took me over two years to get the dealer parts/service manuals for my tractor. If a sevice manual should happen to be listed, don't let it get away no matter what the cost. Don't start tearing the knoters apart till you have a dealers manual avalable. The #12 baler is an excellent machine but the knoters can be a bit tempermental.

Good Luck

I think you are looking at the billhook if it is not worn to bad you can sand it smooth with course sand paper to keep the twine from hanging on it,hope this helps Buford
