I noticed this weekend that there is a scratching noise when I push the clutch pedal. The noise goes away when the pedal is let out. There is no problem changing gears and the gears seem to work good. It will have to go if the tractor needs splitting. That's probably not much info to go on but I would appreciate any opinion about the clutch.

Sounds like the throwout bearing is bad. This bearing rides against the pressure plate fingers and compresses them when you push in the clutch. To check for sure: push pedal just enough to take out the play. Now you should hear the noise as the bearing is riding against the fingers on the pressure plate. It will last until the bearing freezes up, and tears itself apart. I'd consider replacing everything (disk, plate, and bearing) now if itwere mine. .....Stan
