1958 MF TO-35 12V Cont. Gas 4cyl

Turning over but won't start. Has new alternator, starter and coil.

Test light shows current to coil, starter and distributor when turning over. I removed the coil wire from the distributor cap and placed it next to the block, turned it over, no spark. It is a brand new coil??? Seems that the problem is getting spark from the coil. Could it be a bad condenser in the distributor causing the coil not to spark?

Any Suggestions?

I would remove the wire that comes from the distributor from the coil. This should be connected to the negative side of the coil. The hot wire should be connected to the positive. Next I would put a jumper wire between a ground source and the coil negative terminal. When you remove that jumper from the coil is when you should get a spark from the coil. If you get a spark, then the next place to check is the distributor, ie points, condensor or plug wires. If you don't have a spark then it must be the coil. Good luck. Bob
