First is always shallow, but reverse should not be. If this 44 were used as a puller, "First gear
till the Death". These MH's can start jumping out of first, pulling(they tie the lever in position).
Any pull history? Did you open the top on the transmission? Changing the rail(first/reverse),
and the fork may help. If this issue continues, a
more timely job would be pulling gears off the main shaft, to install others. There are hulk cases to be quickly found. If other problems,
changing the complete case may be less work, IF
not rusted up, from 2 decades on the ground. As
the brakes, axle seals would be scrap.Good luck.
