I found a nice set of Massey-Ferguson model 66 plows for my old 50. I got them ready and wanted to try them out. I have some ground that we just dug our potato crop out of, so I decided to try the plows. The 50 seemed to be running fine. I have been bush hogging, and baling hay with it. I know that the plows would pull a bit harder, but didn't expect any problems. The ground I was plowing is fairly good. It generally plows easy. When I started plowing, the tractor struggled. (Just 2X12") The governor seemed to surge. At full throttle, the governor would rev the motor, then drop off, then go through the same cycle over and over. The governor would rev the motor every 15 or 20 seconds. Everything else seemed to work just fine. The draft control was working fine, and the plows did a fine job. It's just that the governor seemed to be working too much. What do you all think? I know that it's impossible to diagnose a problem like this, without hearing it run in person, but do you think it sound like the governor might need some attention, or what else could it be?
