So many questions. I want to take my Massey-Ferguson 50 to our local clubs, PLOW DAY, this fall. I want to have the right plow for the tractor. I remember dad having an old set of Ferguson 2-12's, and a newer set of 2-14's. The newer ones were trip bottom's. We live in an area were limestone rock formations stick out of the ground. It would be wise to use the trip beam plows if possible. (How well I remember what the steering wheel in the gut feels like, when you hit something without the trip beam) Does anyone remember what the model # was, for the trip beams of 1957 or 1958 vintage? I would like to find them in 2-12" if possible, but would take 2-14". the old tractor needs to live an easy life. The 12" would no doubt pull easier. I want to find the right plows, and have time to spruce them up, so they look as good as the tractor.

As stated below, recommend the MF Model 74 shear pin plow. You can easily find it in a 3 14" bottom and remove one bottom. Make sure it has the furrow wheel assembly. I have rebuilt 2 of these. Bought the Operator Manual and the Parts Manual through local MF dealer. Post back if you have any questions. Tom

MF62 is a mounted 2 or 3 bottom 10,12,14,16 inch.
It was also made as a single 16 or 18 inch.
MF66 was a mounted trip beam 2 or 3 bottom 12,14,16 inch.
MF 72 3 or 4 bottom.
Mf 74 3,4 or 5 bottom trip beam or shear pin, available in 12,14,16 inch.

I found the original set! A neighbor had them. He "borrowed" them in 1978. They are model 66 plows. I managed to find new points, shins, and landslides. The trash covers were still good, and the Tractor even looks happier, with them hooked to it. Thanks to Tom Dold. You had the correct info. (Good dealers are so valuable!)
