I am in the final stages of restoring a MF 50. It is a "family heirloom" so to speak. I have just about got it ready to paint, and am trying to tie up all the loose ends, before shooting paint. I decided to go through the front end, and tighten up everything, and re-pack the wheel bearing. They haven't been done since the tractor was new. They are in suprisingly good shape. No new bearings needed. There is a problem, however. The inner seal, on the right front is leaking grease. It leaked a little before the "re-build". It is worse now, even with new seals. The seals are Massey-Ferguson parts, and just like the original. Does the leak indicate wear on the hub casting, or is there just something I need to do, that I overlooked? Anyone that has had simalar problems, let me know how you solved it, please.

Hi, The 1xx MF's have a steel sleave that is pressed into the hub which reduces the bore size by about .020. If this is missing the seal still fits but not as tight. Bill
