after looking at my tractor sitting in the yard I went to look up the serial number only to find out i owned a 1950 Massey-Harris model 44 GSO
One of 99 , orchard model the sheetmetal (orchard) is missing but the tractor runs real sweet. everthing works, even the guages and we use it to pull brush stumps
out of the ground. The serial number is 44-GSO 1089
Anyone have an idea what this GEM is worth??
Bob

I found a man in Kansas, that reproduces the sheet metal, including the fenders for 44 orchard.I don't know the price. The e-mail address is [email protected] Kevin Youngquist
Youngquist Restoration
125 n. Monroe
Kensington,Kansas 66951
785-476-2269 Ebay sales i.d box 1369
So now you can restore your Massey Harris 44 orchard tractor and make it worth $3,000 to $5,000 dollars.

I seen one sold at public auction in Union Bridge,Maryland on August 12, 2000. It brought $5,600.00,it had all the sheet metal but was rusted with pits. No paint was left on this tractor,it even smoked when first started. If the serial plate is there and can be identified as orchard 44,its worth alot of money.

Worth a lot of money? If all the sheet metal that
made it unique as orchard model, is missing? What
makes the S/N tag raise the value any? It's not
authentic, since stripped. Pipe dreams, like some
photo ads posted on this site. Had someone preserved all the sheet metal, in the loft, for 2
decades, THIS person might be eager to buy this
exact model 44. However, how many matches can be
found? Enjoy the classic farm tractor, waiting 3
years to get a few extra dollars, is a joke.

Since the Specialized sheet metal, making it unique, has been removed, you're more in the price
range of a 44, formerly, one of 99(?)orchard
models. Great to own 44's, not sell them, enjoy
owning & operating a classic. Good luck.
