Who owns who with the Massey equipment line now? I asked some of the collectors in town and they didn't know or want to answer.
They have main street blocked off and dispalys everywhere this weekend in Newcastle. The home of Chester D.Massey and where he had his first factory(s).

I was in Newcastle at your Show yesterday . It is certainly smaller than two years ago . The first Massey there was Daniel Massey . Agco owns the Massey brand world wide . Agco is short for Allis Gleaner Company and was what was left out of Allis Chalmers when Deutz was through with them . They are out of Duluth Georgia USA.

I was just talking to one of the organizers at the display field over at the old Cathlic school play ground. He claims SARS did them in. Said there was 65 pieces of equipment on display and sold 320 posters for $5.00 each. Wife wouldn't let me go last night incase there was a beer tent. It's possible Chester D.Massey's middle name was Dan?

Yes it is quite possible that his middle name may well be Daniel . I believe that Chester was Daniel's Grandson . Daniel was the first Massey in the Machinery Business . His son Hart stayed home to run the farm . When the father became ill ,and later passed on , Hart took over the business . I believe that Chester was one of Hart's sons . Sars , West Nile and Mad Cow seem to be frightening visitors away from Ontario right now . I sure hope lots of people see though all the media hype and show up next weekend at the "Massey Expo" at the Farm Museum in Milton .

In the 40's & 50's, Massey-Harris was a legendary
manufacturer of combines, tractors,implements.
Once MHF phased out the MH division, in 1957, bad
corporate decisions, made for a hemmoraging company
unable to even build a rotor combine. They turned
to White, as a supplier. Built nothing unique, in
the farm equipment industry. The MF badge means
little...Massey For get it? Massey Failure? Since
AGCO/MF offers no support for even the 44 MH,best
to restore a few MH tractors to enjoy quality.
