Got a 3cyl Perkins in a 69 MF40, at warmed up temp with a load at pto speed for 20-30 minutes it feels like it loads up if I rev a little, i'm seeing some extra black exhaust, my first diesel engine, if it was gas I'd say the choke butterfly was partly closed. Runs great otherwise, starts quick, pulls, minor pan or rear seal leak, burns no oil, 3300 hrs. I'd like to fix this little glitch if any of you MF giants out there have any ideas. I assume you've checked the air filters. Maybe a sticking injector or injector pump timing.

Air filter overhaul might help. Pull the dipstick out when she is running...any blow by coming out from the dipstick hole?
