BigDean,s website might have some drawings of the filter position. It's not readily apparent when you remove the left side inspection plate. It sits below the hyd. oil level, forward and down. Mine has a screw-on top with a fin on the center for gripping. It may be safety wired to prevent it working loose. If you've got a hoist, remove the lift cover, get in there and give the whole sump a good flushing out. The amount of rust and gunk in there will surprise you. GOOD LUCK, Jim

Sorry I was in the wise-a$$ mood last night.

There were I think three or four different pumps used in the Massey Ferguson tractors. If you open the side cover you'll see the cylinder sticking up. It may have a cap with a fin at the top to unscrew it. DON"T DROP ANYTHING. There's washers and "O" rings under there. Probably best to drain off a couple of gallons of oil or just do a change.

Again, sorry about the earlier short but accurate answer.

Good luck, Charlie

There is a filter on MF35 but not on FE35 so far as I can see. It may be that some of the early 35's don't have one either. To access it you take off the side cover that PTO lever is attached to. Filter sticks up at left side on back of pump. I'm not sure how it is attached but suspect it either unscrews or has a securing nut (possibly wired). Draining the oil wouldn't be essential but might let you get a better view of what you're doing and if you're changing the filter you might want to change the oil anyway.
