I've got a neighbor with a TO-35 in the usual Red and Silver paint scheme.

For some reason or another he told me that he was fairly certain his particular tractor came originally in Green and Gold.

Have you guys ever heard of this?? Were there special editions or something for these tractors???

If so, does anyone have any ideas about where I could see pictures of one of these paint schemes??

Thanks for any and all help.

WhileI don't pretend to be an EXPERT, I do know a little bit about your mystery tractor and the unusual paint scheme. Shortly after the "change" was started, (Massey-Harris and Ferguson merger) some of the Ferguson tractors underwent a facelift. I had a 1957 Ferguson 40. It was virtually the same as the Massey Harris 50, only with Ferguson decals, and a greenish-grey color on the chassis, and a pale yellow (could be seen as gold) on the sheet metal. My father bought the tractor new, so I know that it was all original. I have been told that there were TO-30's made with the same colors. I made the "mistake" of selling the 40 about ten years ago. Now it is a much sought after tractor. Very rare.

The first TO 35s were painted green underneath with gray sheet metal and wheels. I think those were the 1954 & 55 models. For a short time, posibly 1956, they were metallic gray with pale yellow sheet metal and wheels. The yellow was changed to red in 1957, I think.

UK model FE35 was grey and gold. Don't know much about US tractors but maybe the UK one is confusing the issue somewhere?
