Need pwr steering cyclinders or re-build kits for the cylinders going to each front wheel. Anyone ever rebuid them? Cannot find any part numbers or either one. Ball joints are not repairable, must replace entire assembly if ball joint is bad.
Thanks, David

Thanks for the information from both replies. I knew that the cyclinders would be expensive but no idea they would be that much. The one shown at bare-co is not the one on my MF240. Mine has only one ball joint and the other end is a solid pin that attaches to the axle(?), then has the fluid lines going into it near that attachment point. Attempt to order rebuild kits from local MF dealer were negative. State they cannot order kit without a number from the cyclinder. No numbers anywhere on either cyclinder. I attempted a repair with generic "O" rings but that did'nt work either. Guess I'll just have no pwr steering. Thanks, David

Change Dealers, they sound clueless and/or inept. Take the cylinder(s) with you, maybe they can pull a number. Pittsburg Tractor used to advertise in Farm Journal classifieds a few years ago, had a toll free number.

David, I just got one fixed for an MF 245, only one cylinder. The dealer rebuilt the cylinder only, about $75. Here's the good part, I called at least 20 parts houses all across US and NONE carried a rebuilt one, nobody rebuilds them. A complete cylinder from MF is about $580. To replace the shaft only, MF wants only $280. Can you smell your wallet burning? MF is making a killing off of an extremely poor design and no aftermarket companies are making their own to sell. Good Luck!
