MHF 50 charging system

Recently a friend bought a MHF 50 LP. The basic tractor was in excellent condition, but most of the wiring was stripped away. The tractor has a 12 volt battery, which I do not know if this is correct? I have been trying to help him get the charging system working again. Most of the tractors I deal with pre date electrical systems, so I am sort of lost on how to hook all this up. Can anyone give some direction on re wiring the charging system so that it will function correctly.
