I'm just getting started with the restoration of a MF 50. This one is "near perfect" to begin with. Not so much as a hale dent in the sheetmetal, and is in better shape, mechanicaly. It needed a tach, a drawbar, a mufler and exhaust pipe. The oil pressure gauge was leaking. The only thing left to do, is strip it down, and paint it. (This thing had 4 new tires when I bought it) I haven't done a restore, on a tractor in about 25 years. I did a Ferguson 40 while I was in highschool. Then I did a 35 Deluxe. I have my second "victim" lined up. As soon as the 50 is finished, I get to start on a 165. ($$$$$$). I'll check in now and then to see if There is any reply to this post.

John

I finished restoring a 1958 MH 50 last fall. I need to paint the outside of the rear wheels yet, but I havn't decided if I'm going to replace the rear tires. Other than that it looks like a new one.

Good Luck

The wiring diagram is in the original owners manual. It is still available from Massey-Ferguson. It has diagrams for the gas and diesel. This manual was written in 1957, and is a pleasure of the greatest simplicity. It is worth having on hand, to do ANY work on a MF50.

I'll try to email a parts book page. I might have a schematic also but I need to look.
