I Found a Massey Ferguson 85 sitting in a field yesterday. The current owner bought it 2 years ago for 500 afer the water pump grenaded. all the parts fan, water pump, belts are with the tractor. the front wheels are now gone, but the hubs are there. the one grill is gone and the other is destroyed. The hood has a small rust hole in it. I dont see any welds anywhere on the tractor. The 3 point hitch is intact. It has a gas engine. I didnt try to spin it, but i would assume it is stuck. the rear rims show some rust at the valvestems, but no rust through. The rear tires would be usable with new tubes. would this be worth fixing? I have used two massey 65 diesels and am impressed with them. What do you think is a fair price?

I currently own a 85 with a possibly cracked head, cracked piston, and intake/exhaust manifold in rough shape. You should get yours the same way I got mine, FOR FREE! Mine was sitting for three years, and I offered to cut the vines off of it and haul it away. Parts are few and far between for this model, so plan on making a substantial investment if you want to bring it up to speed, hence dont pay much or anything for it. My "free" tractor has and will cost me about $2000, so far. Not complaining, but if I did not get this for nothing, I wouldn't be putting that in it.

Give him what he paid for it or less since the front wheels are gone. It's a shame to see a tractor go to waste, but it's going to be a lot of work and cash to get what you discribed back in shape.

Big question is, What is it worth to you.
